Predators & Inception

So sunday I went & saw the new predators movie, and although I'm usually kind of weary about movies that just keep putting out sequel after sequel after sequel. Even though, I don't remember AVP: Requiem very well, this movie takes it back to the same way the first Predator was shot. It's in the jungle, and they actually make a reference to Arnold & what happened in the first one. I thought the movie was as good as it could be, I enjoyed it very much, and if you are a fan of the predator movies, I highly recommend going to see this one. I thought the acting or screenplay might be a little corny, but I thought overall they did a good job with it. The special effects and camera angles were probably the parts I enjoyed the most. I feel like camera angles can make a movie twice as good. I always refer to Denzel Washington's Man On Fire, the way it was filmed made it one of the best movies I have ever seen. Even though it was a remake of the older 'Man On Fire'. I can't believe Predators is like 10th on the list of box office earnings. I figured it would have made more than 3 million the first weekend. Maybe once people find out it's not like the AVP movies and its back the original Predator story, it might gain a little more recognition. I mean "Grown-Ups" has 4 million more than Predators does, and it has the worst rating of all the movies out at the theater right now. Ehhh, whatever.

The weekend before I went out on my first "date" in a few years, and I saw Inception. I wasn't sure whether I was going to like it or not, but I went because I liked the girl that asked me to go. The first 20 minutes of the movie I wasn't really sure what was going on, but as soon as the opening scene was over & it calmed down, the actual storyline came into play, I was definitely intrigued. I have always been a person who was curious about dreams and what goes on in my brain while I am asleep, and why we have yet to completely understand it all. I highly recommend this movie, I have only heard 2 negative reviews of this movie, and although I loved it, I can see where some people might not enjoy it. The director is the same guy that did the recent Batman movies, and he must have enjoyed working with some of the actors, because he uses at least 3 of the same people. There might have been more, but I only picked out Alfred (Batman's Butler), the chinese ninja guy from the first one, and Cilian Murphy (the guy that put the burlap sack on his head). The special effects are absolutely marveling & I wouldn't be surprised if some people got motion sickness from watching it. It was like 'The Matrix" on steroids. I'm excited for the DVD release, to watch the making of and all the behind the scenes stuff.

So, if you are wondering what movie you should go see. I recommend both of these.

Rachel Maddow makes my skin crawl

So I woke up this morning to an email from a friend, linking me to a clip from the Rachel Maddow show. It had to do with the Shirley Sherrod story, and how Fox News is racist and how Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity were responsible for the firing of Ms. Sherrod. Now I listened to Shirley Sherrod tell the story about Cheryl Cook calling her and telling her to pull her car over and tender her resignation "because she was going to be on the Glenn Beck show." HAHA. Glenn Beck has the White House on edge it looks like, they are firing people for stuff they think might happen. Pathetic? Yeah, I'd say so. Now I know that condemning somebody just for their political ideas is wrong, but I think Rachel Maddow is one of the stupidest people to ever have their own show on cable tv. Everybody on MSNBC are idiots, but she takes the cake. Politifact.com is a good site to see who is lying and who is telling the truth in politics, they pulled a handful of quotes from Rachel Maddow, and NOT ONE of this woman's statements were even half true. I don't understand, I know there's freedom of speech and all that, but I wish there was some kind of mediator for cable television, someone or something that could keep people like this in check when they are just lying through their teeth to the thousands and thousands of people that are watching it. Those single host kind of talk shows are dangerous if you ask me, for the sole reason that they can say anything they want, and the only people to correct them, are people that email the damn show. It's ridiculous. That's why I find www.politifact.com to be such an interesting site. I think everybody should read it, everybody should go check facts on stuff they hear, before they form an opinion. You got every news show in the country talking about some damn FDA official for a week now, come on Mr. President - LETS GET BACK TO THE REAL PROBLEMS IN THIS COUNTRY. Personally calling Shirley Sherrod to apologize. Since when does the POTUS call someone like that and apologize, an FDA official at that. She should have kept her mouth shut and just did her job, instead of trying to politic. Obama, how bout you call the families of the murdered farmers in Arizona? Just a thought.

God in the classroom

I love articles like this, because it's easier to just tell someone to read it, because trying to tell a religious person about something that goes against what they think, is like killing kittens. They just don't even want to hear the common sense approach to the whole situation. But this is a good article from a scientist professor about being asked by a student whether or not he believed in God since he was a 'scientist'.

Radio Stations! GET A CLUE.

Here's another article from the Tune Lab site, about how bad radio stations are actually becoming.

Stopping Pre-Release Album Leaks

Here's an article from one of the sites I visit frequently for updates on music. It's on the topic of stopping albums from leaking out into the public before they are legitimately released. I have always had a problem with this, although I am guilty of listening to some albums before they have been released, if they wouldn't have been available, I wouldn't have done it. But the artists that I probably did look up, were some of my favorite ones, and there's a 99% chance that I bought the cd when it came out anyways. I'm old fashioned, I do download some music, but I definitely buy the actual CD's of all the bands that I like. So, I'm not one of those kids that just downloads whole albums and never buys a CD. I do have a problem with that method of obtaining your music. Most people know I enjoy music more than that average Joe, therefore this is the reason this is sort of a soft spot for me. I like to support the artists I frequently listen to, and I think everyone else should do the same thing, before the music industry goes completely viral and there are no more live shows or anything like that.

Tonight's Video

I feel like i need to do something cool everyday, like post a video, or a picture or some kind of article. I don't know man, I'm new to the blog world. Here's a video for today. It's kinda whacky.
