Predators & Inception

So sunday I went & saw the new predators movie, and although I'm usually kind of weary about movies that just keep putting out sequel after sequel after sequel. Even though, I don't remember AVP: Requiem very well, this movie takes it back to the same way the first Predator was shot. It's in the jungle, and they actually make a reference to Arnold & what happened in the first one. I thought the movie was as good as it could be, I enjoyed it very much, and if you are a fan of the predator movies, I highly recommend going to see this one. I thought the acting or screenplay might be a little corny, but I thought overall they did a good job with it. The special effects and camera angles were probably the parts I enjoyed the most. I feel like camera angles can make a movie twice as good. I always refer to Denzel Washington's Man On Fire, the way it was filmed made it one of the best movies I have ever seen. Even though it was a remake of the older 'Man On Fire'. I can't believe Predators is like 10th on the list of box office earnings. I figured it would have made more than 3 million the first weekend. Maybe once people find out it's not like the AVP movies and its back the original Predator story, it might gain a little more recognition. I mean "Grown-Ups" has 4 million more than Predators does, and it has the worst rating of all the movies out at the theater right now. Ehhh, whatever.

The weekend before I went out on my first "date" in a few years, and I saw Inception. I wasn't sure whether I was going to like it or not, but I went because I liked the girl that asked me to go. The first 20 minutes of the movie I wasn't really sure what was going on, but as soon as the opening scene was over & it calmed down, the actual storyline came into play, I was definitely intrigued. I have always been a person who was curious about dreams and what goes on in my brain while I am asleep, and why we have yet to completely understand it all. I highly recommend this movie, I have only heard 2 negative reviews of this movie, and although I loved it, I can see where some people might not enjoy it. The director is the same guy that did the recent Batman movies, and he must have enjoyed working with some of the actors, because he uses at least 3 of the same people. There might have been more, but I only picked out Alfred (Batman's Butler), the chinese ninja guy from the first one, and Cilian Murphy (the guy that put the burlap sack on his head). The special effects are absolutely marveling & I wouldn't be surprised if some people got motion sickness from watching it. It was like 'The Matrix" on steroids. I'm excited for the DVD release, to watch the making of and all the behind the scenes stuff.

So, if you are wondering what movie you should go see. I recommend both of these.
